Software Dog Analytics Corp. Privacy Notice
This Privacy Notice is effective as of July 6, 2023
At Software Dog Corporation (“SoftwareDog”), we recognize the importance of protecting your personal information and are committed to processing it responsibly and in compliance with applicable data protection laws in all countries in which we operate.
The software application ".NET Explorer" is designed so you are never emailed; a news feed exists in the application so you can pull news to you, and a feedback form in the applications lets you push information. Your email inbox and sent folders are blissfully unfettered.
THIRD PARTIES
SoftwareDog has 2 partners: Square for payment processing and LicenseSpring for license generation. SoftwareDog uses the information from Square to generate licenses for you. LicenseSpring stores your license key, email address and activation information. SoftwareDog does not record your personal information or your credit card information.
TELEMETRY
By default, .NET Explorer does not send any data to SoftwareDog. The application has no software to record visits to a tab, or any general use of the software. If you so elect, you may opt in and send SoftwareDog information about failures that occur in the application. This includes .NET runtime exceptions and JavaScript exceptions. The information sent to SoftwareDog is limited to the exception stack trace, and a timestamp. No other information is sent to SoftwareDog. The opt-in is in the configuration dialog, and by simply un-checking the box again, you can opt-out.
FEEDBACK
If you use the Contact Us navigation pane, enter some data and hit the Submit button, then SoftwareDog receives all the information you have provided. This information is used to fix bugs, plan new features, improve existing features and generally get a sense of the well-being of the user community.
If you specifically grant permission to post some of you feedback, then that feedback may be added to the Web site to improve communication, plan out the Road Map, or have those nice marketing blurbs that we all love.
WEB SITE
The SoftwareDog Web site does not collect any data about you. As far a I know, my ASP.NET Web site does not even issue any cookies. No third-party tracking vendors. For my own edification, I hope to collect IP addresses without any other information to gauge the success or failure of my business, and which countries are garnering interest and might need the application to be translated.
MARKETING INFORMATION
As stated earlier, you are never emailed. If you are curious about where .NET Explorer is going, check out the News tab on the Dashboard navigation pane. All other marketing information will be available on SoftwareDog; your inbox is never filled up with our crap.
RESIDENTS AND NON_RESIDENTS OF THE EU
First, non-residents are conferred the same rights as EU residents. Why not?! If you make any request under the GDR your information will be corrected or deleted. Please note that if you delete your information and you have license enforcement issues, your use of the product may be impacted if licensing issues arise. Without your information, the license key will be deemed fully activated, and no further activations will be permitted.
I have an official privacy policy, but in plain language, my intention is to be exemplary in corporate behavior:
- I currently do not have a login system on my Web page.
- Application News is provided in the .NET Explorer UI. You read it if you wish; nothing is pushed to your email Inbox.
- I would love diagnostics (C# and JavaScript exceptions), but sending this information to me is turned off by default. If you opt in to help me improve the application, then I receive only the C# exception stack or a brief description of the JavaScript exception. No other information is sent to me.
- I do not use cookies. If my Web site has stored a cookie on your computer, then that is some ASP.NET magic. There is no code on my Web site that examines or manipulates cookies.
- I do maintain enough information about you associated with a purchased license key to both support you, and enforce my Intellectual Property rights.
